The final of a football competition for Zhejiang's middle-aged (over 49 years old) and older (over 59 years old) people was held on Oct 6 in Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province, according to the organizers.

This is the first time that Zhoushan has hosted the competition.

On Oct 4-6, 12 teams with over 220 football players from the host city and its sister cities in Zhejiang province competed. There were 18 games in total over the three days.

This year's competition has been widely praised by professionals and senior football players.

The football competition has become the most influential one since the Zhejiang football league for middle-aged and older people was established in 2014, said experts.

This year's competition is the most successful one in recent years, said Gong Zhimin, secretary general of the league.
