A group of doctors from Daishan county in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province saved the life of a female passenger who was experiencing chest pain on Oct 18 while on a train headed for Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province.

The doctors, who work at the Daishan First People's Hospital, were planning to enjoy a holiday in Chengdu.

Things seemed normal, when suddenly an urgent call for help was broadcast over the train's intercom system.

The doctors quickly proceeded to the scene of the incident, where a woman had begun experiencing severe chest pain.

After being briefed on the situation, Shen Guogu, a chief physician in the group, diagnosed the woman in time and quickly provided her with some pills she needed from a medical kit which they happened to have on their persons.

After about 30 minutes, the woman's condition began to improve. The group of doctors had saved her life.

"It's our duty to help those in need – it's really very fortunate that we happened to have the medical kit with us," said Hong Chuankun, the leader of the group.
