Handling capacity of Dapukou wharf hits record high

The handling capacity of the Dapukou wharf of the Jintang Port Area in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province exceeded 2 million TEUs in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 48 percent and a record high.

The utilization of high-tech equipment has greatly improved the operation efficiency of the port facilities.

The port area is equipped with 28 automatic gantry cranes that handle more than 70 percent of container loading tasks.

Six gantry cranes in the port area were modified and 41 new electric container trucks were put into use in the port area over the past year.

The port area has also taken efforts to boost its intelligent transformation.

A digital intelligent control center has been set up in the Yongzhou container terminal to improve container operations. In addition, 14 intelligent container gantry cranes will be introduced to the port area, according to Zhoushan Yongzhou Container Terminal Co Ltd.

The intelligent facilities have improved the operation efficiency by more than 30 percent, said Hu Zhuoyan, supervisor of the information department of Zhoushan Yongzhou Container Terminal Co Ltd.
