The 1st Daishan Jellyfish Culture Festival was held in Daishan county, Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, on Aug 11.
A series of activities such as intangible cultural heritage performances, jellyfish-themed banquets and a concert, as well as a fair, were held during the festival.
A tourist surnamed Huang said that the festival provides a glimpse into the county's history, culture, customs, and delicacies.
Holding such events aims to protect the brand of Daishan's premium jellyfish and to drive common prosperity, according to Cen Zhibin, a local official.
Cen added that authorities are planning to build a fishing base and related supporting facilities for future jellyfish culture festivals and to make efforts to create a tourism brand featuring Daishan's culture, specialties, customs and delicacies.
