Construction of a marine equipment intelligent manufacturing park in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, has made significant progress over the past five months, local media reported on Aug 23.

The 1.2-billion-yuan ($164.94 million) park is the first of its kind in Zhoushan's Dinghai district and is aimed at attracting projects related to industries including shipbuilding, marine engineering equipment, intelligent manufacturing and general equipment manufacturing.

The facility is expected to be put into operation by the end of next year and to generate an annual output value of more than 400 million yuan.

A special service team was established to provide agency services in terms of land application and approval to ensure the construction will be conducted smoothly and the operation can start as soon as possible.
