The 8th Shenjiamen Fishing Port Folk Custom Event will be held in Putuo district, Zhoushan, Zhejiang province from Nov 11 to 13, according to local media reports.

A series of public cultural activities, including folklore exhibitions, folk parades, and dragon dance performances, will be hosted during the event.

More than 10 dragon dance teams from various regions across the country and four local dragon dance teams will stage a grand dragon performance, showcasing the unique features and charm of dragon culture from different places.

The event is a signature event in the district and was held for eight years in a row from 2003 to 2011.

Authorities will also hold an investment promotion conference during the event, and are looking to invite more than 40 representatives of industry-leading companies and 40 Zhoushan native entrepreneurs to carry out investment promotion in fields such as port equipment manufacturing, clean power, bulk commodities trading, modern marine fisheries, R&D of pre-made dishes, and marine tourism.

A staff member of the organizer said that the local government is aiming to take the opportunity to attract more projects, which will in turn aid its common prosperity drive.
