Xie Li, a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress and assistant general manager of Zhoushan Putuo Mountain Travel Agency Co in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, is focusing on the high-quality development of China-chic consumption.

In recent years, China-chic products featuring Chinese elements and traditional characteristics have gained immense popularity, with the China-chic trend sweeping the nation. The market size of China-chic fashion exceeded 220 billion yuan ($30.43 billion) in 2024 and is projected to reach 250 billion yuan by 2025.

Xie attributes the growth of China-chic consumption to increasing national and cultural confidence. However, she notes challenges such as insufficient cultural exploration, inadequate intellectual property protection, and quality control issues in some products.

To address these challenges, Xie suggests that China-chic enterprises strengthen quality supervision and prioritize innovation.

She emphasizes that attracting talented designers, such as through collaborations with universities and research institutions, is crucial to enhancing the cultural uniqueness of their products.

Xie calls for increased support from relevant departments, including financial and technical assistance, to promote brand innovation. She also states that cracking down on intellectual property infringements is necessary to ensure a fair market environment for the innovative development of China-chic products.
