With constructions continuing during the Workers' Day holiday, all production lines at the CRCC Harbour & Channel Engineering Bureau Group (Zhoushan) Construction Smart Manufacturing Technology are at full capacity to ensure the supply of prefabricated components to various project construction sites.
Located in the Zhoushan High Tech Industrial Zone, the company is specialized in producing prefabricated foundations for bridges, docks, and other hydraulic projects.
"As construction continues ahead, we definitely cannot stop. We must ensure that the piles are supplied on time." Zhou Gaofeng, a worker in the PHC large pile factory of the company, is feeding a 32-meter-long steel casing with a diameter of 800mm into the welding machine. "It takes about 20 minutes to complete one steel casing because it's too long. Once one is done, we immediately start on the next one."
"If one step goes wrong, it will cause our entire production line to halt." After repairing the automatic feeding machine, Fang Ping, a workshop manager, hurriedly moves to the next workstation. "Because our level of automation is relatively high, our technical staff must also be on-site to monitor and respond to any needs promptly."
Inside the production workshop, prefabrication of the pier products for the Qinglongmen Bridge West Approach Bridge of the Liuheng Bridge is also underway, with plans to produce 194 pier bodies and 1,788 segmental beams.
To ensure the smooth progress of various milestones for the Liuheng Bridge, the company collaborates with the project and adopts a parallel construction approach to reduce the impact of adverse weather conditions on the maritime construction. The pier bodies are scheduled to be completed by mid-June, and the segmental beams will be finished before Spring Festival.
