Visitors recently atop the Yangtianwan viewing platform of Fairyland Over the Clouds in Dinghai district, Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, witnessed a breathtaking natural spectacle — rolling seas of clouds rising from beneath, wrapping the island of Dinghai in a misty embrace.

Gazing toward the ancient city, buildings drift in and out of view, shrouded in vapor, evoking a flowing ink-wash painting. The scene feels both vast and tranquil, as if a mythical "sky city" has emerged.

This phenomenon results from seasonal weather conditions unique to spring and early summer. From April to July, warm and humid ocean air often collides with cool mountain currents, forming advection fog that cascades down the hillsides like a heavenly waterfall.

The view changes constantly — mountains vanish into white clouds one moment, then sunlight breaks through to gild the swirling mist the next.
The city, sea, and hills appear to float above the clouds, creating a mirage brought to life.
