The 2025 WingFoil Racing World Cup China concluded with an award ceremony on Sept 7 in Daishan Island, Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province.
More than 120 athletes from 14 countries and regions, including China, the United States, France, Italy, and Greece, competed in the event. Kamil Manowiecki from Poland won the men's overall title, while Maddalena Spanu from Italy secured the women's crown. Chinese athletes also had strong performances, earning podium finishes in multiple categories.
The event was one of the most anticipated stages of this season's WingFoil Racing World Cup China, offering 60,000 euros (about $70,628) in prize money and 600 international ranking points. Several of the world's top 10 wingfoil athletes took part, adding to the competitive intensity.
China's youth wingfoil team earned recognition for their progress, particularly among female athletes, who demonstrated world-class potential despite equipment limitations. In the China Kiteboarding Tour women's long-distance races, veteran competitor Mo Yulu claimed the title but said she aims to further refine her route selection and strategy.
Organizers highlighted Daishan's favorable natural conditions and professional services, which received high praise from international officials, athletes, and referees. With strong safety measures, meteorological support, and logistics, the event went smoothly and strengthened Daishan's reputation as a competitive watersports venue.
