The "Drive Zhejiang" road trip began at Nandong Art Valley in Dinghai district, Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, on Sept 14, bringing together self-driving fans and cultural tourism representatives from across the province.
Dinghai was chosen as the starting point, emphasizing the district's progress in developing the "Bai Li Wen Lang (Hundred-Mile Cultural Corridor)". Once a neglected path, the corridor has been transformed into a key tourism route and a model of high-quality rural road development.
At the launch ceremony, routes through destinations including Dinghai, Xiangshan, Wenling, and Cangnan were promoted as part of the Drive Zhejiang itinerary. During the event, convoys of cars and motorcycles drove through the Fairyland Over the Clouds, passing various attractions and experiencing both natural scenery and local heritage.
Organizers reported that visitor numbers at Nandong Art Valley increased by about 40 percent during the event. Since its full opening in 2023, the Hundred-Mile Cultural Corridor has seen more than 4.5 million visits. Over 70 community workshops and six corridor-themed markets have been established along the route, creating jobs for more than 1,800 people.
Dinghai plans to further improve the corridor with smart navigation tools and new energy facilities, developing it into a model of transport-tourism integration along Zhejiang's coast.
