Seafarers and international residents recently joined a Mid-Autumn Festival-themed event at the Marine Culture Station of Zhoushan Changhong International Industrial Park in Dinghai district, Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province.

China's Mid-Autumn Festival, which falls on Oct 6 this year, is a cherished occasion for families to reunite and admire the full moon. The activity combined mooncake making, lantern crafting, and festive sharing, bringing the spirit of reunion to those far from home. Participants kneaded dough, shaped lotus paste and egg yolk fillings, and carefully pressed small mooncakes under the guidance of volunteers.

Alongside the pastry workshop, seafarers and families also crafted jellyfish-shaped lanterns.

The Marine Culture Station has become a hub for cultural exchange and daily services for nearly 100 seafarers. By offering heritage experiences, local cuisine, and creative crafts, the station provides memorable encounters with Zhoushan's culture.

This year, Dinghai has hosted over 10 events for international seafarers, ranging from fruit festivals to seafood tastings. Through interactive sessions, cultural gifts, and overseas social media sharing, the district is strengthening bonds and enhancing cross-cultural understanding.
