A large outdoor camping festival was launched at Dinghai Bay Park in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, on Nov 15, transforming the coastal park into a tent-filled gathering space for more than 1,000 participants.
The festival turned the park into a lively venue, featuring coffee stands, small markets, and sports areas that created a relaxed atmosphere. Local vendors showcased regional flavors, while land windsurfing competitions and other sports attracted steady crowds. In recent years, Dinghai district has promoted a model that integrates marine sports with cultural tourism. Events like island marathons and orienteering races have gradually developed into recognizable local brands.
Throughout the day, participants joined island hikes, land windsurfing contests, and family-friendly coastal study tours. Children followed guides along the Donghai Cloud Corridor to visit historical sites, while others took part in drawing activities and outdoor games. At the main camp, fitness zones offered kickboxing sessions, flag football, and pickleball, while colorful kites filled the sky. Food stalls and invited chefs served local seafood, adding a festive touch.
Dinghai also used the occasion to announce three collaborative projects, encouraging private organizations to contribute to local sports development. These initiatives, alongside existing races, aim to establish a districtwide outdoor activity network and boost tourism consumption.
