Grace Dahlia, a liquefied natural gas tanker, recently arrived at the Zhoushan LNG Terminal in East China's Zhejiang province, carrying 61,000 metric tons of LNG. The shipment will be fully offloaded at Zhoushan and delivered to eastern Zhejiang to support winter heating for households.
LNG, primarily composed of methane, emits significantly less carbon dioxide than coal or oil, making it a major global clean energy source. The Zhoushan LNG Terminal serves as a key supply point in the province, providing stable resources for household use and industrial needs while supporting emergency peak shaving operations.
To enhance energy supply capacity, Zhoushan Customs offers round-the-clock consultation services for LNG importers. Measures such as advanced declaration and appointment-based clearance ensure a smooth energy supply chain. A combined inspection model — integrating health checks, vessel inspections, and cargo examination — enables immediate processing for LNG vessels.
Customs has also improved coordination among multiple port departments by establishing an information-sharing platform with port authorities to support joint assessment and risk management.
From January to October, Zhoushan's port areas imported 2.25 million tons of LNG valued at 8.91 billion yuan ($1.26 billion), rising 16.7 percent and 11.9 percent year-on-year.
