Filming for the suspense drama Wild Bloom concluded on Jan 17 at Shenjiamen subdistrict in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province. So far this year, 14 major film and TV productions are being shot in Zhoushan.
According to Xu Jiawei, external production coordinator for Wild Bloom, Zhoushan is recognized nationwide for its ability to meet the filming needs of a wide range of genres. The city's unique combination of sea, sand, fishing ports, old streets, and islands offers a visually captivating backdrop for filmmakers.
In addition to its diverse and distinctive scenery, Zhoushan is also known for its filming efficiency. The city's compact geography significantly reduces the time and cost of scene transitions. A shift from seaside views to modern city alleys can take as little as one-third of the time required in other regions.
Last year, more than 30 films and TV dramas were shot in Zhoushan. To make the city even more attractive to filmmakers, Zhoushan has developed comprehensive film services. The city has also built a "Marine Film City" scene resource database, cataloging shooting locations and providing remote location-scouting support to production teams.
