China Jushi Co Ltd, a leading fiberglass enterprise based in Tongxiang city, Zhejiang province, recently joined hands with Egypt's National Research Center in building an international laboratory in Suez, Egypt.

It is Jushi's first science and technology base in Middle East and is considered as an active response to China's Belt and Road Initiative.

In the future, the laboratory will focus on the researches into key technologies about fiberglass and compound materials with the help of Egyptian scientific forces. Moreover, the two sides will promote the cooperation on talent cultivation, standardization of fiberglass products and technical exchanges.

China Jushi has gone global in recent years by taking on a few international projects in collaboration with companies in Germany, Czech Republic and the United States.

The ties with Egypt and the Middle East have also gotten closer. In 2014, Jushi built a production base in Egypt, marking the beginning of the Sino-Egyptian cooperation in fiberglass sector.

The setup of the new laboratory will work to further strengthen the bilateral relation by having more exchanges with local universities and research institutes such as the National Research Center and Cairo University.
