A delegation from Ethiopia, led by Dessie Dalke, chief of the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples' Region, visited three textile companies in Lanxi, East China's Zhejiang province on May 31, to seek cooperation opportunities.

Zhejiang Twin-Lantern Textile Co Ltd, one of the leading companies in China's textile and garment industry, is a private company focusing on seven aspects of business, including facecloths, pillow towels, hand towels and bathrobes.

Impressed by an array of towel products, especially a children's towel with an intelligent sensor system that can tell if the bacteria exceeds the standard, the delegation members hoped that this product could be exported to the African market.

The delegation also visited two textile companies in the city: Boaim Home Textiles and Zhejiang Xinlan Textile Co Ltd.

"Though there are many textile companies in Ethiopia, technologies are still lagging behind, while Lanxi boasts advanced equipment and first-class textile technologies," said Dalke, adding that he looked forward to further cooperation between the two sides.

With textiles as its pillar industry, Lanxi is hailed as one of the manufacturing bases of textile products in China.
