"No matter how far we've gone, we should never forget where we started." From China to Canada and then back to China, Lin Wenqing has always had strong emotions towards his motherland.

In 1994, with the demarcation of administrative zones in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, a lot of new investment opportunities sprang up. Lin thought the new rising city would be a hotspot for investment and business, and decided to return from Canada.

In 2000, he founded an investment company in Taizhou with its main focus on real estate. The company successfully developed some landmark building complexes in the coastal city, including Xintai Square in Jiaojiang district. These days, Lin's company is building a large shopping complex and a luxury hotel in Wenling, a county-level city under Taizhou's umbrella.

In Lin's eyes, Taizhou is experiencing great changes, making the city full of vitality and vigor.

"I've been engaged in the investment business in China for almost 20 years and have experienced highs and lows," Lin said. "I always think that as a Chinese businessman, I should do something for my country and my hometown."

Over the past four decades, many people from Zhejiang province have been bold enough to go abroad for business exploration and expansion. They've witnessed the fast development of domestic cities since the country announced the reform and opening-up policy. Lin said he was one of those people and felt deeply proud of the changes.
