The Guanyin Cultural Park in the Zhujiajian scenic area of Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, opened to the public on Nov 14, local media reported.

As its name indicates, the cultural park revolves around the culture of Guanyin (the goddess of mercy in Chinese Buddhism) and focuses on art exhibitions, educational research, and international exchange.

The legend of Guanyin in Zhoushan was listed as a State-level intangible cultural heritage site in 2008, and Zhoushan started constructing the Guanyin Cultural Park five years ago.

The Guanyin Shrine is the main attraction of the cultural park and integrates the style of traditional Chinese pavilions with the style of modern high-rise buildings, fusing tradition and modernity.

The Guanyin Shrine houses figures and paintings of Guanyin created during the feudal dynasties of past ages and uses optical artistry and digital technology to recount the good deeds of Guanyin.

A volunteer team will be formed at the park to carry out various public welfare activities.

In order to ensure the safety of visitors amid the COVID-19 outbreak, the daily tourist capacity will be capped at 1,500, while the member of each tourist group will be limited to 30.

Visitors are required to make online real-name reservations at least one day ahead of their tour on the WeChat account "guanyinfajie".

Before entering the park, visitors must have their temperatures taken, register their information, show their green health QR codes, and wear a face mask.
