The total length of Hangzhou metro lines was extended from 206 to 306 kilometers on Dec 30, with the third phase of metro line 1, first phase of metro line 6, metro line 7, and Hangzhou-Fuyang metro line opening to traffic.

The opening means that all districts administered by Hangzhou are now connected to the city's underground network, and the Hangzhou International Airport can offer passengers easy transfers to metro lines 1 and 7.

Metro line 6 connects Xihu, Binjiang, and Xiaoshan districts as well as main venues and the sports village for the 2022 Asian Games. The first phase connects with metro line 2 of the Qianjiang New Area station and can offer transfers to the Hangzhou-Fuyang metro line.

The Hangzhou-Fuyang line is the first of its kind connecting Fuyang district, a remote corner in southwestern Hangzhou, to the urban area. The line will offer quality public services and resources to Fuyang residents.

Hangzhou will continue its metro line projects by aiming to extend the total length to 516 km before the 19th Asian Games in 2022.
