The Xihu Art Innovation Town in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, is the nation's first art innovation town that had been built from an obsolete cement factory.
In 2015, the government of Xihu district partnered with the China Academy of Art and Zhejiang Conservatory of Music to build the town.
The architectural design of the town features a combination of modern and industrial elements. Advanced technologies were applied in road signs to help guide visitors.
