A number of female deputies in the Zhejiang delegation to the ongoing fourth session of the 13th National People's Congress in Beijing offered proposals to the NPC in recent media interviews.

The Zhejiang News website published their interviews on March 7, one day before International Women's Day, in honor of women's contributions to China's socioeconomic development.

Young Party members should obtain strength through hard work by learning the history of the Party and the spirit of our revolutionary predecessors, said Yuan Jing, a female NPC deputy and museum guide at the Memorial Hall of Revolution at Nanhu Lake in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, before the opening of the annual NPC session on March 5.

Artists should deliberate on howto tell China's stories in order to present the country in the best possible light, and they should stick with people-centered principles in their art and strive to create masterpieces, said Wang Binmei, a female NPC deputy and director of the Zhejiang Xiaobaihua Yueju Opera Theatre.

Cui Wei, a female NPC deputy and director of the Hangzhou Opera & Dance Drama Theatre, shared her cultural exchange experience. "In every city our artists visited abroad, we persisted in integrating our performance with the local culture. And we tried to help global audiences learn about the Chinese people's efforts to preserve and pass on our cultural heritage," she said.

It is essential to utilize new media and platforms to expand the influence of Chinese culture, she added.
