Zhoushan rolls out measures to attract graduates

Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province recently published preferential policies to attract graduate university students, local media reported on April 30.

Individuals holding a bachelor's degree or above and finding a job in the city will be offered a maximum of two years' free public rental housing.

Those graduating from regular universities, key universities and those with a master's degree and doctoral degree will be granted housing purchasing subsidies of 80,000 yuan ($12,000), 100,000 yuan, 150,000 yuan, and 300,000 yuan respectively.

People graduating from junior colleges, universities and those with a master's degree and doctoral degree who come to work in Zhoushan within five years will receive a maximum employment subsidy of 900 yuan for two years.

Interns in Zhoushan companies will receive a subsidy of up to 1,200 yuan per month.

Startups settling in Zhoushan after winning municipal competition will receive a maximum subsidy of 500,000 yuan.

Human resource agencies ranked among the top three in introducing graduates to Zhoushan every year will be granted with subsidies of 80,000 yuan, 50,000 yuan, and 30,000 yuan.

Zhoushan has also ramped up efforts to attract postdoctors.

Doctoral students will enjoy a settling-in allowance of 100,000 yuan. Postdoctoral centers in the city that achieve provincial and national recognition will be given a subsidy of 500,000 yuan. Human resource agencies will receive 30,000 yuan as a reward for introducing a postdoctor.
