An online activity was held on May 12 to unveil the commemorative activities for the 20th anniversary of the establishment of friendly exchange relations between Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province and Ganghwa, a county in South Korea, local media reported.

During the activity, 20 students from Zhoushan partnered with 20 counterparts in Ganghwa.

The commemorative activities include the making of a commemorative video about the two places' friendly exchanges, the design and making of a commemorative stamp, a themed exhibition, an artistic performance, as well as the signing of an agreement to further friendly exchanges.

Eight special commemorative activities are being held in Ganghwa at the same time, which have received a warm reception from local residents.

In 2001, Zhoushan and Ganghwa inked a friendly exchange agreement. Since then, the two places has forged deep relations by mutual visits between government officials, as well as exchanges between students and civil servants.

The commemorative activities held this year are expected to further enhance the cultural exchanges between China and South Korea, as well as reinforce the friendship between Zhoushan and Ganghwa.
