A forum on local towns renowned for the longevity of their populations and their high-quality green development opened on May 25 in Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province, local media reported.

The United Nations Population Fund, the municipal government and tech giant Alibaba jointly launched a Lishui model for using digital means to help the elderly at the forum.

Alibaba will provide digital technology and innovative services, focusing on education, health management and digital community services for elderly. It will also jointly develop digital assistance services for the elderly with Lishui government departments, so as to share the convenience brought about by the digital age with the region's seniors.

The China Association of Chinese Medicine signed a strategic cooperation agreement on traditional Chinese medicine health development with the Lishui government at the forum.

It will promote the construction of a regional TCM medical center in Lishui and help transform it into a leading city for high-quality TCM development in the Yangtze River Delta region.
