Hangzhou-Haining railway opens to traffic

The Hangzhou-Haining intercity railway was opened to traffic on June 28, local media reported.

Spanning 48.1 kilometers, the railway starts at the Yuhang High-speed Railway Station in Hangzhou, capital city of Zhejiang province, and ends at Biyun Railway Station in Haining, a county-level city in Jiaxing, Zhejiang.

The entire journey takes 39 minutes and costs 9 yuan ($1.39), with 2 yuan being the starting fare.

The first train departs the Yuhang High-speed Railway Station and Biyun Railway Station at 6:30 am and the last train departs the two stations at 10:30 pm. Six pairs of trains operate on the railway each day.

In order to attract more passengers, the railway is offering discounted 1-yuan tickets for the entire journey until Aug 5 this year.
