The first fully automatic train in East China's Zhejiang province made its debut in Ningbo on June 29.

Manufactured by Ningbo Rail Transit Group and CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co Ltd, the train is expected to be put into use in the city's subway line 5.

The train's manufacturing process was completed in Ningbo and its after-sales services and maintenance can also be done in the city.

The first phase of subway line 5 is an important part of the rail transit network as it offers the most transfers to other lines in Ningbo.

The 27.9-kilometer-long subway line consists of 22 stations. It starts from Buzheng village and ends at Xingzhuang Road. The line will have a maximum speed of 80km/h.

The subway is expected to be put into use within the year.
