A new branch of the Zhejiang Construction Technician College – located in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province – opened in Jingning She autonomous county in the province's Lishui city on Sept 1, welcoming its first 154 students.

The branch is regarded as being a key initiative to optimize the educational environment in Jingning. It adopts a "2+3" training system – after two years of study at the Jingning branch, students will continue their studies for three years at the head campus in Hangzhou to graduation.

Zhejiang Construction Technician College is a full-time provincial public technical college. It is a national key technical school, a national training base for high-skilled personnel and a training center for the World Skills Competition in China.

According to Xia Jianmin, deputy director of the Jingning county education bureau, the establishment of the new branch will help fill a gap in the training of architecture professionals in the county.

At present, Zhejiang Construction Technician College Jingning Branch has three majors – engineering costs, construction and elevator management technology – each of which enrolls a single class.
