The Zhejiang Administration for Market Regulation and the Zhejiang Federation of Industry and Commerce jointly published the "Top 100 Zhejiang Privately-Owned Enterprises in 2021" on Sept 23.

The rankings on the list were based on an overall evaluation of the province's privately-owned companies' annual financial data in 2020, including operating revenue, taxation, net profits, and total assets.

The top 100 privately-owned companies on average reported a year-on-year growth of 16.9 percent, 25.8 percent, and 23.8 percent in operating revenue, net assets, and net profits respectively. Ninety of them posted positive growth in net assets, while 68 saw increased net profits.

The number of companies with annual sales exceeding 100-billion-yuan ($15.48 billion) was 11 in 2020. Their combined operating revenue was 2.1478 trillion yuan, making up 41.8 percent of the top 100 companies' aggregate.

The annual sales figure threshold for a company to enter the list was 14.98 billion yuan, up 25.5 percent from the figure for the 2020 list.

Fifty-seven of the top 100 companies are manufacturers, while 13 are technology service firms.

Hangzhou, Ningbo, and Shaoxing are respectively home to 33, 18, and 13 of the top 100 companies.

The top three companies on the list are Geely Holding Group, Rongsheng Holding Group, and Tsingshan Holding Group.
