Long street banquet is a tradition of the annual Wuzhen Theatre Festival, whose eighth edition opened on October 15 in the water town of Wuzhen, Jiaxing city, East China's Zhejiang province. 

A banquet stretching over 100 meters on a street was held on Monday, entertaining people from all corners of the country. The festival's initiators – actor and producer Huang Lei, director Meng Jinghui and playwright Stan Lai – toasted before the banquet and received warm responses.

Playgoers, cast members, directors and other diners enjoyed delicious food while enjoying the charm of the magical water town.

The 10-day festival will run through October 24. As many as 66 performances of 24 plays from around the country will be staged at 12 venues in the town.
