Ten professors at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) were recently listed among the World's Top 2 Percent of Scientists, according to data compiled by Stanford University.

The study was updated by the research team led by Professor John P.A. Ioannidis from Stanford University in October.

The list was generated based on a publicly available database of more than 100,000 top scientists selected from nearly 7 million scientists around the world.

The scientists were classified into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields and were ranked according to criteria including citations, h-index, co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions, and a composite indicator.

Out of the 10 UNNC professors on the list, Professor Patrick Chau and Professor Alain Yee Loong Chong were both ranked in the top 100 in terms of information systems discipline and 1st and 3rd in China respectively. In the field of business and management, Professor Antony Paulraj ranked 5th in China. In the field of industrial engineering, Professor Hing Kai Chan ranked 11th in China.

UNNC, founded in 2004 and jointly run by the University of Nottingham and Zhejiang Wanli Education Group, was the first Sino-foreign university to be set up in China.
