The 18th China Theatre Festival is set to take place in Hangzhou from Nov 8 to 27.

The event is jointly organized by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the China Theatre Association, the Hangzhou Municipal People's Government, and the Publicity Department of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee.

This year’s festival will encompass 15 traditional Chinese opera genres such as Peking Opera, Qinju Opera, Yueju Opera, and Huangmei Opera, as well as various contemporary theatrical arts including dramas, musicals, children's theater, and ballets.

It will feature 48 performances, with approximately 36,000 tickets available for sale to the public. Ticket prices will be categorized into six different tiers, ranging from 50 yuan ($6.84) to 480 yuan. There will be over 20,000 tickets priced at or below 100 yuan, with nearly 10,000 of those being specially discounted to 50 yuan for the public.

Additionally, the festival's organizing committee will provide free admission to representatives from the 19th Asian Games and 4th Asian Para Games, as well as individuals who have made contributions behind the scenes and as volunteers.

The China Theatre Festival, established in 1988 and held every two years, serves as a prominent platform for showcasing outstanding theatrical creations in China and is the highest-level artistic event in the field of Chinese theater arts.
