The 2023 Conference on Wang Yangming Mind Philosophy is held in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province from Oct 30 to Nov 1.

The event was organized by the Shaoxing municipal government, the International Confucian Association, and the China Philosophy History Association. More than 450 participants came to Shaoxing from all over the country.

The conference is themed on "Wang Yangming Mind Philosophy and Modern Chinese Civilization" and features a series of activities including talking about Taoism on Jishan Mountain and lectures on Tianquan Mountain.

Over the years, Shaoxing authorities have been undertaking the historical mission of promoting Yangming culture and fully exploring it. Yangming's tomb and other relics have been repaired and protected, and Wang's former residence has been rebuilt based on archaeological results and historical materials.

Shaoxing has released a series of local laws and regulations and invited leading academic authorities to serve as heads of professional research institutions and directors and members of academic committees to provide institutional guarantees for the development and promotion of Yangming culture.

In addition, Shaoxing has also continuously enriched Yangming culture’s literary and artistic creations. A variety of works, such as Yueju Operas, animation and short videos have been held.

Shaoxing combines the spiritual core of Yangming Mind Philosophy with spiritual civilization, school education, grassroots governance and rural revitalization, bringing Yangming culture into people's everyday lives.
