In 2023, Yiwu's tax rebate and exemption for exports reached 12.07 billion yuan ($1.68 billion), up 14.78 percent year-on-year. This marks the first time that the tax rebate for exports exceeded 10 billion yuan, benefiting nearly 13,000 export enterprises.

The Yiwu taxation bureau used a combination of offline training and online platforms to deliver policy interpretation and push updates. It also customized an exclusive tax service for export enterprises, providing policy consultation and guidance.

The bureau also took the lead in a pilot project to digitally manage export tax rebate filing documents, innovated paperless and personalized filing modes, and facilitated digital document filing for enterprises.

"The whole process of export tax rebate is ‘paperless’, reducing the burden of document storage and enhancing the efficiency of the tax rebate process," expressed Ying Xiaoqun, a financial staff member Yiwu Sea-rail Import and Export.

The average time for handling export tax rebates in the city is now far quicker than the national requirement of six working days, saving nearly 100 million yuan in expenses for Yiwu enterprises every year.
