Quzhou-made chemical product leads counterparts in China
The Poly(vinylidene chloride), or PVDC, produced by Jusu Chemical Co in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, made the list of the "champion products" in the manufacturing industry compiled by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, according to local media reports on Dec 12.
"Champion products" is a term coined by the central government to recognize products which feature advanced technologies and have among the highest market shares in the world.
Founded in 2005, Jusu is the wholly-owned subsidiary of Quzhou Juhua Group, a leading fluorine chemicals manufacturer in China; it manufactures PVDC-related products and organochlorine products.
Its flagship product, PDVC resin, is used to make durable packing materials with strong heat insulation and chemical stability.
As early as the 1990s, Jusu began carrying out research on PDCV with the help of leading universities in China. Its products were put into mass production in 2008.
After more than 30 years of development, Jusu has become the only company in China capable of producing PVDC resin and PVDC latex with independent intellectual property.
The market share of PVDC resin made by Jusu is now among the top three in the world.
Jusu will receive a total of 500,000 yuan ($72,000) from local government for being named as a champion product supplier.
Last year, the xylitol used for food produced by local Zhejiang Huakang Pharmaceutical Co became the first champion product in Quzhou.
