Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province donated a batch of medical supplies to its international sister cities to help them fight against the novel coronavirus pneumonia, local media reported on March 31.

Quzhou sent 60,000 masks and 600 articles of protective clothing, along with other anti-epidemic supplies, to Catanzaro in Italy, Sumgayit in Azerbaijan and Murcia in Spain, all of which have maintained close industrial and cultural relations with Quzhou over the past few years.

"Due to the surplus of medical supplies in Quzhou, we can spare part of our stockpile to help our sister cities pull through," said Xu Li, Party secretary of Quzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce.

He added that during Quzhou's fight against the epidemic, many of its international sister cities and organizations sent their condolences and offers of assistance.

Quzhou is also expected to donate another 60,000 masks and 600 articles of protective clothing to Sano in Japan, Red Wing, and Children of Doolittle Raiders in the United States.
