More than 40 young scholars from 22 countries and regions around the world, including Singapore, Pakistan, Italy, Canada, and Brazil, visited Quzhou on July 16 to explore the culture featuring Southern Confucianism.

The event was hosted by the International Confucian Association and Beijing Normal University and was titled "Confucian Civilization and Chinese-style Modernization”.

The event will last for four days, and the young scholars will visit the Temple of Southern Confucianism, Suitingmen Historical and Cultural Block, Lanke Mountain, Quzhou International Weiqi Cultural Exchange Center, Quzhou No 2 Middle School, Quzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, Yudong Future Village and more.

They will learn about and experience Quzhou's efforts in cultural preservation, civilizational practices, Confucian campus, rural vitalization and common prosperity.

Organizers said that the event is expected to offer young international scholars a deeper understanding of traditional Chinese culture, including Confucian culture, and inspire them to consider the important role of Confucian culture in Chinese-style modernization.
