The first Changshan Oil-tea Camellia Festival was held in Changshan county, Quzhou, Zhejiang province on Dec 16, according to local media reports.

The national standards for the oil tea forestry industry were published during the event, in which more than 200 experts and enterprise representatives from across the country took part.

The national standards are aimed at promoting the standardized, technological, and intelligent development of oil tea in areas such as superior variety breeding, plantation establishment, seedling cultivation, and cultivation management. They provide strong technical support for promoting the high-quality development of the oil tea industry.

A series of strategic cooperation projects with a combined investment of more than 55 million yuan ($7.72 million) was secured and activities such as study tours and fairs were held during the festival.

Dubbed "the hometown of oil tea in China", Changshan has a history of over 2,000 years of planting and utilizing oil tea, and the total output value of its oil tea industry exceeded 1.3 billion yuan in 2022.

The deep processing of oil tea products covers five major categories and sixteen series, including refined camellia oil, cosmetic oil, health products, pharmaceuticals, and tea saponin, which are exported to Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Europe, America, and other regions.
