The core industries of Quzhou's digital economy achieved a significant milestone in 2023, reaching a total revenue of 80.83 billion yuan ($11.25 billion), a year-on-year increase of 43.9 percent, as reported by local media on Feb 20.

The added value of the city's digital manufacturing industry surged to 11.46 billion yuan during the period, an uptick of 41.5 percent compared to last year, while the revenue of the information transmission, software, and information service industry stood at 5.46 billion yuan, up 17.6 percent year-on-year.

This outstanding performance can be largely attributed to a series of strategic initiatives undertaken by local authorities, including launching eight major initiatives to promote the leapfrog development of the digital industry.

The city has also been concentrating on key sectors such as lithium battery materials, integrated circuit materials, photovoltaic new energy, and wireless communication to foster a distinctive digital industrial cluster.

In 2023, Quzhou nurtured one digital economy enterprise with a market value of over 10 billion yuan, facilitated the listing of one company on the Science and Technology Innovation Board, and supported 55 small and medium-sized high-tech enterprises.

In addition, authorities have also been dedicated to advancing the integration of digital technology and real economy, and establishing digital industrial platforms to bolster its digital economy.
