For those people looking for a refreshing summer trip, islet-studded Taizhou on the eastern coast of Zhejiang province must be considered.

The following are some islands that are worth visiting in the city:

Dachen Island

Formerly a barren island, Dachen Island has witnessed significant changes in recent years.

Located 52 kilometers from the urban area of Taizhou, Dachen is comprised of 29 small islets and occupies 14.6 square kilometers.

It is dubbed a "pearl on the East China Sea" due to its captivating natural views.

Dongji Island

Situated in Linhai, a county-level city in Taizhou, Dongji Island is made up of over 50 islets of different sizes. Located far from the mainland, it boasts a stunning sunrise over the sea that won't disappoint any visitors if they can get up early to enjoy it.

Sansuan Island

Sansuan Island is the southernmost island inhabited by people in Wenling, a county-level city in Taizhou.

The island gets its name because it is shaped like three garlic cloves. There is another saying that its name originates from a story in which garlic was widely planted on the island in the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties, attracting fishermen nearby to come dig them out.

The beach on its east side is the best place for sightseeing. Visitors can have a lot of fun foraging for seafood when the tide ebbs and exposes several kilometers of tidal flats.

It is also a popular option to go camping on the island, with the starry sky to admire at night.
