The First Hospital of Jiaxing opened green channels to satisfy strong demand from locals for COVID-19 nucleic acid test on Jan 22, local media reported.

With the help from hospital staff and volunteers, people can now be tested for COVID-19 in front of the outpatient hall in no more than 15 minutes without entering any of the hospital buildings. Results can be retrieved within 12 hours.

Locals can make reservations and pay for the test on WeChat and later take the test at the hospital using a QR code. They can also use their ID card, citizen card, or medical card to make reservations with the self-service machines at the hospital and then take the test using a receipt.

After being tested, they can check the results on WeChat or print them at the self-service machine at the hospital from 7:30 to 19:30.

On Jan 20, China's top health authority said that people intending to travel home to rural areas during the upcoming Spring Festival travel rush period from Jan 28 to March 8, must provide negative COVID-19 nucleic acid test results taken within seven days of departure in order to help prevent against the virus' spread during winter.
