Cuban Ambassador to China Carlos Miguel Pereira led a delegation of Cuban students to visit Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, from June 1 to 2, local media reported.

The delegation visited Nanhu Lake and listened to the story about the Red Boat berthing over the lake where the first National Congress of the Communist Party of China was convened 100 years ago.

"Cuba and China share many similarities in history as Cuba has a similar boat in the country's revolution and also the same museum as the Nanhu Revolutionary Memorial Hall," said Pereira.

He added that it is meaningful for youngsters from the two countries to learn about the Red Boat on the 100th anniversary of CPC's founding.

During their stay in Jiaxing, the delegation also visited Wuzhen town, the permanent site for the annual World Internet Conference, to experience local folk customs and culture as well as its digital offerings.
