The prefecture-level city of Lishui – located in East China's Zhejiang province – has many mountain villages under its jurisdiction and in order to solve practical logistics problems like delivering daily necessities and services to high-altitude areas, it has introduced special service vehicle teams.

One team is responsible for offering sale affordable consumer goods, medicines and various other badly needed things to those inhabiting the mountainous areas. It's estimated that the team has to date provided services to nearly 20,000 villagers.

Another team goes door-to-door, collecting agricultural products grown by the villagers of the remote areas, which are then sold elsewhere – bringing in vital income. So far this year, the home-grown products sold by the team for the villagers have brought in over 70 million yuan ($10.85 million).

There is also a special team for sending agricultural materials and technological and financial services to the mountainous areas. The team provides free transportation of agricultural materials and seeds and organizes for agricultural technology experts to offer door-to-door consultations and advice to the villagers.

It's estimated that since they were launched, Lishui's service vehicle teams have performed more than 42,000 individual services for folks in the hills and mountains, covering over 380,000 kilometers.
