The first helicopter took off from the Jianhu Heliport in Keqiao district, Zhejiang province on Jan 1.

The 40,000-square-meter heliport, located in the Jianhu Tourist Resort, will help alleviate traffic congestion in the city.

The port will provide training for private and commercial pilots, air tours of Shaoxing, charter flights between scenic spots, and maintenance and storage for a maximum of 60 helicopters.

According local authorities, it is currently the biggest government-owned heliport in Asia.
