Shaoxing professor selected academician of AUNSTO

Wu Faquan, a professor at Shaoxing University, was recently listed among the first 53 academicians of the Academy of the United Nations Sciences and Technology Organization, local media reported on Aug 9.

Wu Faquan is also a foreign full member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, engineering geologist and rock dynamicist, chief scientist of the Rock Innovation Co Ltd, and vice-president of the International Association of Engineering Geology and the Environment. 

He obtained a bachelor's degree in hydrogeology and engineering geology from the China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) in 1982, and a master's degree in engineering geology from CUG in 1985. He taught at CUG from February 1985 to December 1995.

AUNSTO is a non-profit organization that serves the development of worldwide sciences and technology. As the academic wing of the United Nations Sciences and Technology Organization, the purpose of the Academy is to unite worldwide scientific and technological talents and to explore revolutionary scientific and technological issues.
