The Jianhu Lake Resort has been given national-level tourism resort status by China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, local media reported on March 10.

Jianhu Lake is one of the largest ancient water conservancy projects in the southern Yangtze River region and has been deemed the "mother lake" by Shaoxing residents.

Nestled in the heart of the lake is the Jianhu Lake Resort, a sprawling 14.35-square-kilometer destination that offers visitors a vast array of attractions and amenities.

The resort features an ancient town, a stone bridge, a ropeway, and Wupeng boat (a unique aquatic vehicle with black cover) rides. The resort also houses the Jianhu Lake Golf Course, Zhejiang International Racecourse, and more than 10 kilometers of hiking trails, mountain trails, and greenways.

The resort also has facilities specifically designed for seniors, children, people with disabilities, and other special groups.

In 2022, Jianhu Lake Resort welcomed 2.65 million tourists, including 1.3 million overnight tourists, and generated a revenue of 3 billion yuan ($430.5 million).
