The Yueju Opera Museum opened to the public in Shengzhou county-level city of Shaoxing on International Museum Day, which fell on May 18.

Spanning an area of 7,501 square meters, the museum is dedicated to showcasing the rich history and development of Yueju Opera, and in particular its origins in Shengzhou.

Divided into five distinct sections, the museum offers a comprehensive narrative of Yueju Opera's journey from a local opera to a nationally acclaimed theatrical art form. The sections include the Birth of Yueju Opera, Popularity in Shanghai, Magnificent Transformation, Golden Age, and Flourishing Blossoms.

The opening ceremony of the new museum was attended by local officials, esteemed artists, and passionate opera enthusiasts. The audience said the museum stands as a testament to the commitment to preserve and promote the nation's cultural heritage and as a platform for the appreciation and study of this unique art form.
