The Immigration Service Center in Shangyu district, Shaoxing, issued the district's first work visas for foreigners to recipients from Russia, the United Kingdom, and Vietnam, local media reported on June 26.

In May, the service center was unveiled as the first comprehensive "foreign affairs service complex" in Zhejiang province with the authority to issue visas.

The service center integrates 26 foreigner-related services and has established an online service hall for foreign affairs, improving administrative procedures and services for foreigners in China.

"There are currently more than 100 foreigners residing in Shangyu. The service center provides consultations and services to foreign nationals more than 20 times per day on average," said Wu Yijun, an officer at the entry-exit administration department of the Shangyu public security bureau.

He added that in the face of the upcoming peak period for processing certificates due to the Asian Games, all staff at the service center will continue to be on duty and provide services to applicants.
