China Textile City sees more than 180b yuan in transactions in H1

The administrative committee of China Textile reported robust market growth in the first half of 2023, local media reported on July 5.

From January to June, China Textile City achieved 1.36 trillion yuan ($187.9 billion) in transactions, a year-on-year growth of 11.07 percent. Online transactions were valued at 445.87 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.52 percent.

“Environmentally friendly products such as acetate, graphene, and silk series are experiencing high demand, with orders already booked through September," remarked Zhang Lifen, executive deputy general manager of Kewang Textile Co.

Within China Textile City, an increasing number of textile enterprises, including Kewang Textile, are striving to move forward.

Keqiao district, where the textile city is located, has launched the "Silk Road Keqiao, Covering the World" promotional campaign, organizing a series of overseas exhibitions in South Korea, Italy, and Malaysia.

The district also hosted the Spring Fashion Week, featuring more than 20 events across five key segments, including brand showcases and fashion design exhibitions.

Meanwhile, China Textile is developing a "design hub", which generated revenue of 149 million yuan from January to May, a year-on-year growth of 5.2 percent.
