Shaoxing's imports and exports with Singapore reach $440m in 2022

The Shaoxing-Singapore Economic and Trade Promotion Conference took place in Singapore on July 10.

In a video address, Shi Huifang, mayor of Shaoxing, highlighted that Shaoxing's imports and exports with Singapore reached $440 million in 2022, with exports totaling $290 million.

The promotion conference, organized by the municipal government of Shaoxing, aimed to deepen mutual trust and consensus, as well as promote economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Shaoxing and Singapore.

Shaoxing has maintained close economic and trade ties with Singapore. Currently, Singapore has 92 enterprises in Shaoxing, with a total investment of $710 million, while Shaoxing has 18 enterprises in Singapore, with a total investment of $160 million.

Shi emphasized that Shaoxing is developing advanced manufacturing industries, enhancing the advantages of its existing textile and chemical undertakings, nurturing emerging industries such as integrated circuits, biomedicine, high-end equipment, new materials, and smart homes, and accelerating the development of new energy and intelligent vision industries.

There are vast prospects for industrial cooperation between Shaoxing and Singapore in manufacturing industries, particularly in electronics, chemicals, transportation, and biomedicine.

Shi extended an invitation to various sectors in Singapore to visit Shaoxing, deepen understanding, foster friendship, expand cooperation, and increase investment.
